Wesco's current facility in Sparta, Wisconsin, occupies 65,000 square feet of space and includes 30,000 square feet of display space as well as ample warehouse space to store your purchase until your building or remodeling project is completed. Wesco currently specializes in the sale of furniture, appliances, flooring, and electronics. But it did not start with this emphasis nor did it occupy as large a facility.

Wesco was founded in 1923, in Tomah, Wisconsin, as a mill and farm suppy business by John W. Kress, Sr. and his wife, Laura. The business thrived and evolved. During World War II, Wesco sold farm implements, coal, and other commodities. By the 1950's Wesco had also become a retailer of appliances as well as a plumbing and heating contractor. At one time Western Supply Company had stores in Tomah, LaCrosse, Cashton, and Sparta. Not unlike other businesses, the owners found that as times changed they could better serve the public from one large facility rather than a number of smaller ones. And as the business evolved from its beginnings to one which also handled furniture, so to was it consolidated into the current large facility in Sparta, Wisconsin, in 1960.

Wesco is currently being operated by the third generation of the Kress family.
